Video Details

Hey guys. It’s Alejandra. And if you watch my home tour that I did about six months ago, you saw the way I organized my pantry and you saw all the stuff I keep inside the drawers and on the shelves and what kind of organizers I used. And one thing that I left out in the video – actually, I left out a lot of stuff in the video like the video gave you like high-level how I organize the pantry. It didn’t really give you a detailed tour of like the creative things that are inside there that exist.

How to Organize Teabags in the Pantry

So, I’m going to show you one of the things today. So you saw that I use this teabag organizer that fits 72 teabags inside of here and it’s from The Container Store. It’s $12.99. I absolutely love this teabag organizer because I love getting the teabags out of the flimsy boxes that they come in when you buy it at the grocery store like these boxes don’t really stack that nicely. They’re flimsy. They don’t really hold up. So, whenever I buy a box of tea, I take the teabags out and then I transfer them to my teabag organizer.

Teabag Organizer

If you go to The Container Store website, you will see this and you will see a description of the product. If you read the description, it says that this organizer holds 72 teabags. And if you know me, you know I’m really creative when it comes to getting organized, maximizing space, and reusing things for like completely different purposes. Like that’s what I absolutely love to do. I love getting creative and thinking of like new solutions.

So when I bought this organizer, I was like, “There must be a way to fit more teabags, there must be something else I can do with it.” So I have figured out a way to fit 90 teabags inside of this one organizer so not 72 but 18 more teabags. And I’m going to show you exactly what I do.

So the traditional way to organize or to put teabags in here is to just put them in, right? And you just like get the teabag and you just put it in this section. There are 12 here just like The Container Store description says. And what I’ve done is I have fit, can you see a difference? I fit 15 teabags in this section, 12 here like the description says, 15 here and you can see that looks completely different, right? So what I did was I just zigzag the teabags. So if you see, the first one is put in the right way and then the second one is upside down and then the next one is forward and then the next one is upside down. So I just like zigzag them.

And you’re probably wondering like why I did that or how that makes more space or whatever. And I’m going to show you. OK. If you see, these are zigzagged like it’s an even stack, right? It’s an even stack. If you put them all the right way, because the teabags fall to the bottom of the package, it creates like this bulkiness right here and then this is really thin. Like do you see that? If you hold it like that, you can see this is bulky and this is thin. You can also see it on the side of the organizer. Like this is really thin and this is bulky at the bottom.

So if you zigzag them, it – what’s the word? It just like distributes like the thickness or the thinness of the teabag. That sounds really weird but that’s really what it does. OK. So when you fit 15 in one section and you fit 15 in the other sections, 15 times 6 is 90 teabags. So if you have this teabag organizer or you’re looking for way to organize your teabags, try finding this at The Container Store and try out this trick because you can maximize your space more.

That’s all I have for you guys. I hope that was helpful. I will see you guys soon. Bye!
