Sara Feels Fulfilled With New Friendships After Getting Organized

“I enrolled in an organizing homestudy program, because I was completely overwhelmed with my home. I lost my husband, it will be two years, this coming May, and then my adult kids moved in with me to “help” me. But having such tight quarters, I had to basically move everything around and squeeze everyone in. They stayed for about 6 months, and when they left, everything was ‘stirred with a spoon,’ so to speak. Nothing was where it belonged, and it was just so overwhelming.

The way the program helped me is that it made me look at organizing in a whole new way. At first I couldn’t ‘rationalize’ myself into allowing myself to invest in it. I said to myself, I can watch the videos, and they are very self explanatory. But then I said, that is all fine and good, but then again, that just makes me go from room to room and not have any ‘real’ change in what I am doing now.

The difference is that the instructor, goes into the issues that made us who we are, and that we are all different, with different issues, and that we can all learn from the past and get some actual healing and understanding why we are like this. Then we can go with a clear head and a new beginning learning how, as well as why it is different this time.

Also, the program works on time management, and gives us a Members Forum, with others who are in the similar situations as each other, so that we can encourage and help one another along the way. The instructor doesn’t just give us the program and walk away. She continually sends periodic emails, bringing us back to basics, and points out the ‘usual’ set backs that people have in her experience, and how to overcome all of that.

She also has incentive drawings once a month, that are fun. It really doesn’t matter whether we win or loose, because I feel we are all winners with her program. But it is exciting to see who won this months drawing and hear how that helped them etc. It just makes it one more thing to look forward to.

But the friends I have made here in the forum have been so wonderful, and we don’t have to feel less than anyone else, because we are all in the same boat. The bottom line, is that, yes, you could hire someone to come in and organize your home, but, I am sure it won’t stay that way very long, because they didn’t take the time and energy to teach you why you got there in the first place and show you how to maintain it in the long run.

I am still overwhelmed, but more by the emotions of gratitude to the instructor, who has been so wonderful to do all of this for us. I completely recommend you finding a way to take the program, I don’t think you will ever regret it. I know I won’t, Thanks so much! From the bottom of my heart! I can say you have set me free to be me, and still be able to get my house back despite my disabilities. The instructor has given me the tools, such as, making a plan, and a to do list, and how to stick to the plan and the to do list, and not being afraid to tweak either of them to take as long as it is going to take.

She has even taken it one more step further, and has taught us how to incorporate our family, getting them on board to help and maintain. These are the differences also, that sets her program ahead of others. I am just thankful for Alejandra, and I can’t thank her enough for literally changing my life for the better. I am forever grateful!

I feel that I am never really going to be at the end of the program, because it’s set it up to be a life changing program, and a life long, work in progress, so to speak. Yes we will be done all our rooms and so forth, but organizing is an ongoing process, and not one that just stops. Your lifestyle changes, or your situation changes, or you change your residence, there is always something changing. The instructor works through that, showing us how we go about tweaking and maintaining what we have accomplished.

So really I feel fulfilled at the end of the program, but not left alone. Because I will always have the program to go back to. I will always have the forum, to go back to, to keep in touch with others in the same position as I am. That is a valuable aspect to the program that you can always have that back up of inspiration and accountability buddies that we have chosen.

Again I am ever so grateful the instructor, for all she has done and is still doing for me. You can not go wrong with the program. It is complete and covers just about every problem that a person would encounter. Thanks from the bottom of my heart!”
